Residents before developers

Questions have been raised about the validity of some of Darebin’s planning decisions with an Ombudsman’s Enquiry into possible bribes.
The merry band of councillors who have withdrawn council from climate action programmes with the Northern Alliance For Greenhouse Action —  Councillors Morgan, Tsitas, Asmar, Katsis and Chiang — have also been busy creating havoc on the planning front. They now control the Planning Committee.

Ombudsman’s enquiry

The Victorian Ombudsman is currently conducting an enquiry into the possibility that at least one councillor on Darebin Council has been sounded out with possible bribes to make planning decisions.
You can read more about it in stories by The Age, the Preston Leader and on the ABC website.
